Yuriy Kocherzhenko is a decorated Ukrainian National Champion and international medalist in figure skating. Throughout his competitive career, Yuriy proudly represented Ukraine as a member of the European, World, and Olympic teams. Following his retirement from competition, Yuriy transitioned into coaching and was invited to join the U.S. national and international coaching community. With over 20 years of coaching experience, he is a certified coach with both US Figure Skating (USFSA) and USA Hockey. Now based in Nashville, Tennessee, Yuriy specializes in training both figure skaters and hockey players, focusing on advanced skating techniques. His lessons and programs emphasize power skating, edge work, and transitions, as well as improving flexibility, strength, and overall conditioning. Yuriy’s coaching has helped numerous skaters progress to elite levels, with several being invited to USA Hockey’s summer programs and many others advancing into AAA hockey across the country. Over the years, he has worked with every major youth hockey organization in Nashville. For the 2025–2026 season, Yuriy will serve as the power skating coach for both the Music City Marauders and the Nashville Jr. Predators, continuing his commitment to developing the next generation of top-tier athletes.
